FC Pro, the season-ending event for the EA Sports FC esports circuit, will be part of the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC). The competition is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from July 31 to August 10. The FC Pro World Championship will feature a new format that includes a last-chance qualifier, also set to be held in Saudi Arabia.
The last-chance qualifier will involve up to 512 players, competing to secure a spot in a 48-player play-in tournament. After the play-in round, the top 32 players will advance to the virtual field to determine the EA Sports FC world champion.
In addition to the updated format, the event will also feature an expanded prize pool of $1.5 million, allowing EA to award prize money to players competing in the last-chance qualifiers and play-in rounds.
2025 marks the debut of the official EA FC esports circuit at the Esports World Cup. The 2024 edition of the multi-titled event featured EA Sports FC 24 as the sole competition with a $1 million prize pool. Despite this, the 2024 EA Sports FC event saw steady viewership, peaking at 108,056 viewers. The most-watched event in the circuit remains the global qualifier for the FC 24 Pro Open, which peaked at 339,988 viewers.
For this year’s Esports World Cup, EA has expanded its presence. EA Sports FC becomes their second official esports circuit to host a tournament at the event. In addition to the football franchise, Apex Legends will also hold its Midseason Playoffs at the Battle Royale Stage Boulevard City, Riyadh, from July 10 to 13, 2025. This event marks the first time the battle royale game’s esports circuit has held an event in the Middle East.
