Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai said his team must focus on themselves and do not think about anything else including Arsenal’s match in the hunt for the Premier League title.
In of calculations, Liverpool only need two more wins to secure the Premier League title. However, the champion status could come today, Sunday (20/4) if Arsenal loses to Ipswich and Liverpool beats Leicester.
“It’s great because we worked hard all season to get to this point. Everyone is involved, from the players, the staff, the fans, the city, everyone.”
“So I think it’s a big moment for everyone but we have to win the two remaining games,” said Szoboszlai.
Szoboszlai hopes Liverpool can stay calm and do not pay too much attention to Arsenal’s game. In today’s match, Arsenal will play before Liverpool.
“It’s important for us to stay calm, focus on Leicester and do not think about the things Arsenal do.”
“We have to focus on ourselves because the title is in our own hands now. We have to be happy because it all depends on us and we don’t need to focus on hoping the other team loses or draws,” said Szoboszlai.
Dominik Szoboszlai is in his second season with Liverpool. The Hungarian player is increasingly showing impressive performances and has become Liverpool’s mainstay in midfield.
Liverpool have their first chance to become Premier League champions this season in week 33. The13 point advantage over Arsenal in the Premier League with six games remaining means Liverpool only need two wins to become champions mathematically. However, the Reds can secure the Premier League title tonight.
If that happens, Liverpool are certain to be champions because they have 79 points, 16 points ahead of Arsenal. With five games remaining after this week’s duel, the maximum points Arsenal can achieve is only 15 points.
