Nigma Galaxy to continue with Ghost as stand-in for Miracle 662a1b

This decision comes after Nigma Galaxy’s surprising 3rd-4th place finish in BLAST Slam II with Ghost.
MENA-based Dota 2 stalwarts Nigma Galaxy announced that Daniel Chan “Ghost” Kok Hong will continue to stand in for the team in qualifiers, following their impressive 3rd-4th place finish at BLAST Slam II. Ghost stood in for star player Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi in the tournament, and it appears this lineup will remain intact for now as Miracle remains absent. The organisation has not provided any details regarding the reasons for his continued absence.

Nigma Galaxy continues with Ghost in qualifiers
Ghost has been a familiar face in Nigma Galaxy’s roster for some time now. The Malaysian carry player was part of the team’s active lineup in January 2024, though his tenure lasted only 20 days. He also stood in for the team six months ago during the Clavision: Snow Ruyi tournament, where they secured 3rd place.

Ghost returned as a stand-in once again for BLAST Slam II, and he will indefinitely continue in this position.

A great start to the year for Nigma Galaxy
Nigma Galaxy is one of the most popular Dota 2 teams, known for their legendary lineup. Despite a period of underwhelming performances in recent years, they continue to be one of the most anticipated teams in tournaments.

The team’s recent resurgence followed prominent captain Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi’s shift to a coaching role and the addition of two Lebanese players, Omar “OmaR” Moughrabi, and Tony “No!ob” Assaf, which has led to rapid improvement. This progress was particularly evident in their performance at the recently concluded BLAST Slam II.

When BLAST announced the invited teams for the second edition of the BLAST Slam series, many questioned Nigma Galaxy’s inclusion, with several other teams considered more deserving of the spot. It was also surprising to see powerhouses like Team Spirit and HEROIC absent from the event.

However, Nigma Galaxy proved their worth by finishing 3rd-4th place. With Ghost in the carry position, the team defeated strong opponents such as Team Falcons, PARIVISION, and Xtreme Gaming. They even managed to secure a map against Tundra Esports, the eventual champions of BLAST Slam II.

Following this impressive run, Nigma Galaxy heads into their next events with a strong reputation. The team will likely ride their momentum and deliver another strong performance in qualifiers.

First up is the PGL Wallachia Season 4 Western Europea Qualifier, where they will face teams like OG and Team Secret. They will then compete in the FISSURE Playground #1 qualifiers, followed by the highly anticipated ESL One Raleigh, a LAN event in the United States.
